SSICA is a smartphone-based application designed for monitoring student activities through the scanning of ID cards. The system allows for tracking daily actions and offers both rewards and consequences. To operate the application, a student's ID card must contain a compatible barcode format such as Code_39, Code_128, Ean_8, QR_Cod, among others. Administrators can easily download detailed data by clicking a single button on their account at drssica.com. This data includes information such as the time of student scans and the identity of the person scanning.

For instance, staff members conducting lunch detention scans can generate a comprehensive CSV spreadsheet at the end of the session listing attendees, scan times, and the responsible personnel. The system archives all scans in the History section of ssica.org for convenient retrieval whenever necessary. SSICA ensures straightforward record-keeping procedures with each staff member receiving unique login credentials. User numbers can range from 1 up to 1,000+ based on organizational needs.

The application is not intended for student use due to credential limitations and is provided free of charge. With a demo username and password ("demo"), users can explore SSICA's features on various Apple devices like iPods, iPhones, iPads, or Mini iPads. In case a student lacks an ID card, the "Student Look Up" feature enables staff to search by name or ID number.

When scanning an ID card, different color-coded outcomes indicate assigned consequences such as Green (allowed off-campus privileges), Red (restricted off-campus access), Brown (lunch detention), Yellow (Saturday school), or Violet (after-school detention). Scanning each ID card takes only a couple of seconds, as demonstrated by a high school in Visalia, CA scanning 400-500 students in 6-7 minutes with 8 staff members.

SSICA is developed to promote accountability among students and enhance campus safety while offering flexibility in managing various privileges like lunch detention, off-campus authorization, Saturday school attendance, among others. The platform supports integration with multiple Student Information Systems like Aeries, expanding its functionality and utility.

Organizations in K-12 schools and Universities can benefit from SSICA across a wide range of scenarios from managing school dances to attendance tracking and discipline issues. The team at SSICA is committed to providing support for seamless onboarding processes ensuring quick setup and functionality for all users. Contact Dr. Chavez for assistance and account setup which typically takes about 30 minutes to configure rosters and settings.

SSICA emerges as a powerful tool with its versatility in addressing numerous educational scenarios effectively. Consider implementing SSICA to streamline operations and enhance student management within your organization.
